With the Holidays come new, festive flavors with our S’Mores Pavlova! Enjoy our fresh take on a beloved classic this December only! (Graham Cracker Crumble is NOT gluten free)

Marianne’s Pavlovas is a small-batch, artisanal bakery specializing in pavlovas, a traditional Australian dessert that my family has cherished for years. The business idea stems from a deep-rooted love for this dessert, which I learned to make from my mother, who brought the recipe with her when our family immigrated from Australia. Pavlovas are light meringue-based desserts with a crisp crust and soft, marshmallow-like interior, typically topped with fresh fruits and cream.

I take pride in crafting each pavlova with care and precision, which requires several hours of baking per batch. As a one-person business, pre-orders are prioritized to ensure freshness and minimize waste. With our cottage food permit, we're focused on local pickups and pre-orders, following regulations for same-day service and no third-party deliveries. Your understanding allows me to continue creating these handcrafted desserts and eventually grow to a larger production!

  • Pavlovas are delightful, cake-sized desserts from down under, featuring a delicate meringue base that's a symphony of textures—crisp and crumbly on the outside, with a luscious, marshmallow-like center. This airy foundation is then crowned with freshly whipped cream, adding a rich, velvety layer, and topped with a vibrant medley of fresh fruit. The result is a perfect blend of sweetness, creaminess, and the natural tang of the fruit, creating a dessert that’s both indulgent and refreshingly light.

    If you want to steal the show at an event, Pav is the way to do it! Typically it'll sit untouched for a minute or two, and eventually either someone who has had it before will dig in, or someone will try it, and within minutes the entire thing will disappear and the raving begins!

  • Pavlovas come in three sizes: Personal, Family, and Crikey! (Measuring roughly 5, 10, and 13 inches.)

    Pavs can get a little soggy if the toppings sit for too long, so if you plan on refrigerating your pavlova to serve later, we can provide toppings on the side. Cream, fruit, and instructions will be included. If you plan on serving the following day, I strongly recommend this option.

  • Being a one-person show, I've set up ordering guidelines to ensure the freshest pavlova experience:

    • Orders placed before 10:00 PM: Available for pickup the next day.

    • Orders placed after 10:00 PM: Available for pickup two days later.

    Pickup Hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

    Our baking process starts early each morning to guarantee the perfect pavlova. We recommend placing your order in advance to secure your preferred pickup time. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to provide you with the highest quality, freshly-baked pavlovas.

    Our "In Stock" figures manage the production for the next few days, so if you want to pre-order longer in advance and everything shows as out of stock, feel free to call or email and we'll get you set up!

  • Marianne's Pavlovas is a cottage food business operating under a Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operation (MEHKO) permit. This means we follow strict local and state regulations, including preparing all products in a home kitchen and adhering to food safety standards. Due to these limitations, we focus on same-day pickups and do not offer third-party deliveries. Our permit also restricts us from producing large quantities, so pre-orders are prioritized to ensure quality and freshness.

    Our mission is to provide the community with handcrafted pavlovas, made with care in small batches, while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Being a new business and one-person operation, Marianne's currently delivers locally in the city of Alameda only.

    The cottage restaurant license prevents us from taking advantage of any third-party delivery services like DoorDash ourselves.

    In the future we are definitely looking to hire a dedicated delivery driver!

  • Please be considerate to our neighbors and do not block any driveways or make excessive noise.

    Other than that, just call or text and I'll run it out to you for curbside pickup.

  • Pavs are extremely sensitive to moisture and humidity, so it's a great idea to wrap the box in plastic wrap or put the pav in an airtight container during storage and refrigeration.

    Otherwise, the meringue will leech moisture from the air and you will begin to see syrup from the bottom.

  • Our MEHKO license prevents us from preparing and serving food outside of or physical location, but we can absolutely facilitate large pickup or delivery orders with enough advance warning. Please call or email to set these up!

  • If you encounter an 'out of stock' message when placing a pre-order for a future date, please don’t hesitate to contact me via phone, social media, or email. I can manually update the stock or take your pre-order directly to ensure your order is processed.

    To ensure the highest quality and consistency, I am currently manually updating the stock count to accurately reflect daily production capacity. This allows me to manage orders effectively and maintain a reliable output, while I continue optimizing the system.
